BLA Model SAARC Summit 2081 Concludes Kathmandu. BLA Model SAARC Summit 2081 has been concluded under the organization of Junior Optimistic club of Brainland Academy located in Nilopul, Sukedhara, Kathmandu. This event, organized as a Model SAARC Summit, was held at the Academy Hall on Friday. This summit was held for 2 days with an aim to teach the children studying in the school about SAARC included in the curriculum of class 7 and 8 under the subject of social education. BLA SAARC Summit 2081 which started on Thursday was inaugurated by former Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Lingden. After that, 3 dignitaries from each of the 8 countries of the SAARC countries were represented and the children presented papers related to their interests and problems of each country. In which the children addressed the program by giving a model presentation and participating in the discussion as the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary. Similarly, they discussed the common agenda of SAARC on the second day.

In the end, after summarizing the issues raised in the discussion, they have issued a manifesto written down point-by-point about the way to solve the common problems of each country as well as SAARC. The closing ceremony was organized under the chief hospitality of former ambassador Pradyumna Bikram Shah, who has accumulated deep knowledge and experience about SAARC as the head of the SAARC Division under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Nepal and director of the SAARC Secretariat. The school claims that this kind of teaching and learning program is the first in Nepal. "We asked the children to set the agenda and make a resolution on their own, and accordingly, the children derived conclusion with a thorough discussion. We are confident that this teaching and learning program, which is the first time in Nepal, will be fruitful for children’s career and holistic development," said Prashant Dahal, the vice principal of the school. Principal of Brain Land Academy, Parasmani Dahal, who is also the central General Secretary of National Pabson, claimed that such model programs will enhance creative ability of children.
