Former chairman of Maharshi International University U.S.A., the Renowned quantum physicist, educator, and peace advocate Dr. John Hagelin delivered a keynote address in Nepal on November 17, 2024. The event held in capital city Kathmandu brought together distinguished attendees, including former Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Parliament member Shekher Koirala, former Election Commissioner Nilkantha Upreti, senior government officials, former armed forces officers, prominent journalists, and researchers.

Dr. Hagelin's speech focused on the transformative effects of Transcendental Meditation (TM) and its scientific connections to quantum physics. He emphasized the groundbreaking work of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, showcasing scientifically validated studies on meditation’s impact on reducing societal stress and violence. Dr. Hagelin highlighted global examples, such as its role in reducing crime in Washington, D.C., and mitigating the Lebanese Civil War in the 1980s. He stressed TM’s ability to foster inner peace and coherence, aligning with the principles of unified field theory and consciousness as a universal basis.

Dr. Hagelin emphasized, “Transcendental Meditation expands inner coherence, enabling individuals and societies to transform stress into peace.” He underscored the need for scientific and spiritual integration in addressing global crises.

The program, chaired by Dipak Prakash Banskota, President of the Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation, focused on the role of Transcendental Meditation (TM) in fostering global peace. Banskota reflected on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's 1974 visit to Nepal, during which he envisioned "Nepal to lead the world" as a leader in promoting peace through ancient wisdom.
