Lalsingh Khadka a successful businessman in Cambodia

Combodia, Born in Galkot, Baglung, Lal singh Khadka has been struggling in Cambodia for almost 23 years. Just as potters make different types of materials from raw clay, so Khadka has succeeded in becoming a successful businessman after struggling for 23 years in Cambodia. In Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, Lal singh has run 5 restaurants including the World Darbar Hotel. He is also running 2-3 restaurants in other cities of Cambodia.

Currently, he is established as a successful businessman in Cambodia. He is running a chain restaurant called 'Flavour of India', Nepali restaurant 'World Darbar', World Darbar Hotel, Restaurant and Sky Bar in the capital Phnom Penh. Similarly, he has operated restaurants in other tourist cities of Cambodia. He has also given employment to dozens of Nepali and foreigners in Cambodia.

Khadka's business in Cambodia is not limited to this; he has also done business in real estate. He has also built and sold houses in various places in Cambodia. He also owns a lot of land in Cambodia, which has good potential in real estate business.

Lal singh, who is the Cambodian president of Non-Resident Nepali Association NRNA, is also active in social service. Lal singh, who has a very sociable nature, has rescued many Nepali who were in trouble after reaching Cambodia in connection with foreign employment. Although he is in Cambodia, Lal singh is working in various social organizations and social work in Nepal.

Lalsingh, who moved from Galkot in Baglung to Lahure at a very young age, did not have many ups and downs in his life, but he overcame them easily. His uncle's son Ramu Adhikari was working at the Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, while he was used to cooking foreign menu dishes in different cities of India.

Lalsingh's fortune suddenly changed. Seraton needs a junior worker. On the recommendation of his uncle's son, he reached Bangkok via Gujarat on a 'business visa'. Even here, fate did not support him for long. After 6 months the problem of visa came. He did not get permission to work. At this time, he had only one option left - to return to Baglung. However, he did not lose heart. Lalsingh, who stayed in Thailand for 6 months after extending his visa for 3-3 months, decided to leave Thailand once to clear the legal entanglement and to proceed with the visa process to extend his time.

He used Cambodia, a country connected to Thailand, as a 'transit' for easy measures. Interestingly, the same country that he used as a 'transit' has now become his karmabhoomi. In other words, the story of Lalsingh's struggle, which started from Baglung, has rested in Cambodia. Lalsingh has now become a successful Cambodian businessman and social worker.

After the end of the Cold War, in a short period of time, the development of Cambodia has leaped forward. Even though Nepal has been given everything by nature, it has not developed as much as expected, says Lal Singh. It has been almost 3 decades since Lalsingh left his village. During this period, he has reached his village many times. Now his inner desire is to return to his own country and do social work along with business. Therefore, Lalsingh said in a meeting with Janaswal that he is also investing in Nepal recently.

Khadka stated that Cambodia can be made the main destination for employment and said that the government should take proper steps for this.Stating that the condition of Nepali workers in Cambodia is good, Khadka said that there are more than 300 workers in Cambodia in an organized manner. He said that there are more than 400 workers here who have not taken work permit and that there is a good opportunity for those who come for employment. Some workers have been badly cheated by thugs. They are supposed to work in the casino as workers, but the gang takes them elsewhere. There are also women workers here, but there is no record of them. Since there is no embassy in Cambodia, the workers said that it would be better to go to the NRNA and the Nepali Embassy in Thailand to get a good understanding.

President Khadka said that if they come to Cambodia with good knowledge and skills in any subject, they will get good jobs and earn better. He said that some Nepalese are working in the security guard here and only a few are working in the non-governmental sector. Khadka said that since Cambodia is a country that has recently advanced at a rapid pace of development, it can be made the main destination for employment.

Stating that Nepal should open Cambodia for employment to make Cambodia the main destination for employment, Khadka said that this should be stopped as human traffickers are currently luring Nepalis to Cambodia. Khadka also said that there are many good companies in Cambodia, smugglers lure them and send many Nepalis who are in trouble and return them to Nepal. Smugglers have charged up to 10 lakh rupees to bring Nepali workers to Cambodia. Khadka said that in order to prevent such a wrong practice, the government should negotiate with the local government and make a labor agreement and keep it as a labor destination country.

Stating that Nepali youths are being trafficked in Chinese call centers in Cambodia, he said that hundreds of Nepali youths work as slaves in Chinese companies and when they are in trouble, they come to NRNA to ask for rescue. He says that concerned agencies should be alert as Nepali youths are sent to Cambodia on visit visas and sold as 'human slaves'. Some of the young people who came to Cambodia because of the lure of attractive jobs, when they got into trouble, they have been asking for their rescue. Chiniya allows him to work but when he cannot do as he is told, he takes him to a dark room and tortures him. They tell the call center that they use gambling and fraud through the Internet. The police there have been repeatedly raiding such secret 'akhadas' operated by the Chinese in the name of call centers.

On behalf of the cheated workers, you claim that the problem has been created because the workers who come here come without any skills and have no idea. Nepalis have been cheated by the government in the labor market. It should be prevented. Nepalis have been cheated by not getting a job as if they were paying seven lakh rupees. Chairman Khadka says that they have returned dozens of Nepalis who were in trouble to their country safely. He says that he has received information that many Nepalis are still stuck in the call center. There is no Nepalese embassy in Cambodia, the embassy in Bangkok takes care of it. He says that the Nepalese who are stranded in Cambodia coordinate with the Nepali Embassy in Thailand and try to rescue them. All those stranded in foreign countries have been living with the help of organizations and relatives. After realizing that they are trapped, they turn to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Cambodia. The association also provides financial support for them to eat. The group involved in human trafficking has taken them to Cambodia and used them as hostages in the "call center" operated by the Chinese. Where there are illegal activities related to online gambling and fraud. Those who have reached there after spending millions have been exploited. Dozens of young families and non-resident Nepalese have returned home.

Stating that Cambodian tourists can be brought into Nepal, Khadkale said that Cambodia is a country in the midst of civil war and political unrest, and since Cambodia has slowly started a journey of development and prosperity after political stability, many Cambodian citizens can be sent to Nepal every year when they travel abroad. Stating that direct air flights are necessary for this, Khadka said that around 5 million foreign tourists come to Cambodia annually. Many citizens of Cambodia go on foreign trips every year, they can be attracted to visit Nepal. They can spend because their financial condition is good. Since Cambodia also gives on-arrival visa to Nepal, the number of Cambodian citizens visiting Nepal can certainly be increased if tourism professionals can come here and spread the word about Nepal's tourism. Cambodian citizens also believe in Buddhism and since Nepal is the birthplace of Buddha, they are willing to visit Nepal. Khadka said that NRN is also cooperating and coordinating in this.
