The participants also highlighted the need to expand coordination and cooperation between the Government of Nepal and the representative private sector organization, the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, in order to make programs related to women entrepreneurship more effective.
Addressing the program, Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, informed that the Chamber has suggested the government include a special package for the promotion of women entrepreneurship in the upcoming budget. He stated that the economic empowerment of women would positively contribute to the overall national economy and said, “If the capacity, creativity, and leadership of women entrepreneurs can be encouraged, the country’s economic development will gain further momentum. Therefore, the promotion of women entrepreneurship is no longer an option but a necessity.”
Similarly, Urmila Shrestha, President of the Nepal Women Chamber and Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, said that the Nepal Women Chamber has been continuously conducting various programs to solve the problems faced by women entrepreneurs and motivate women through promotional activities. She emphasized that cooperation among all stakeholders is essential to ensure easier access for women entrepreneurs to financial resources, markets, and training opportunities.
During the program, various women entrepreneurs, partner supporters, and volunteers were honored with tokens of appreciation. Senior Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Dipak Kumar Malhotra, Vice Presidents Dipak Shrestha, Santosh Kumar Pandey, Surendra Kumar Shrestha, Arjun Prasad Sharma, as well as Vice President of Nepal Women Chamber Sworupa Shrestha and Secretary Ira Prasai, among others, were present at the program.
